Directed Energy Solutions’ products are derived from the following technology areas: advanced laser devices, custom electronic devices, chemical decontamination and efficient singlet delta oxygen production.

Broad-band Optical Amplifier
A Raman fiber amplifier was demonstrated operating at 1380nm. The potential exists to produce an ultra-broadband optical amplifier (544nm - 1400nm).

Continuous Wave Raman Lasers
Using the technology first realized at Montana State University, both low power and high power devices with superior laser linewidth characteristics over the wavelength range of 1 – 5 µm.

External Cavity Diode Lasers
Directed Energy Solutions has built multiple external cavity diode lasers for internal projects. Both Littrow, and Littman-Metcalf configurations are available. Select wavelengths are available for sale.

Air Laser
Directed Energy Solutions is currently working toward an “air laser,” under DARPA and JTO sponsorship.

Advanced Singlet Oxygen Generators
Novel jet designs and alternative chemistries are being examined under JTO and MDA sponsorship. Incorporating the jet technology into the Airborne Laser will lead to a 70 % increase in optical power, while reducing the system fuel weight by 70 %.

Chemical and Biological Decontamination
Multiple devices are being developed for neutralization of chemical and biological agents based on singlet delta oxygen. These devices can be used to sterilize medical instruments, large aircraft, and to improve the quality of the air in one’s home.

Custom Laser Devices
Multiple laser devices have been developed by Directed Energy Solutions. These devices include:
- High-energy (1 J) variable pulse length (200 ns – 20 µs) Nd:YAG laser
- High-energy (1 J) intermediate pulse length (10 µs) dye laser
- High-energy (1 J) frequency-locked Alexandrite laser
- High Power Raman Fiber Amplifiers
- High Power Molecular Gas Lasers
All of the afore mentioned devices are available on a custom basis, and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the customer.

Custom Electronics
Directed Energy Solutions has developed several low-noise electronics components under various projects currently available for sale:
- Low noise current drivers
- Low noise PZT drivers
- Low cost oscillators with a variable phase shifter (for Pound-Drever-Hall stabilization)
- High speed diode laser current servos (Bandwidths up to 2 MHz (diode transfer function dependent))
- Low noise, high speed photo receivers (up to 1 GHz, 400-2900 nm)
All of the afore mentioned devices are available on a custom basis, and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the customer.
